"Over the past six months, 60 Minutes has examined nearly the entire case file, more than 2,000 documents, including police reports, witness statements and medical records. The evidence 60 Minutes has seen reveals disturbing facts about the conduct of the police and the district attorney, and raises serious concerns about whether or not a rape even occurred."
-- Ed Bradley, 60 Minutes: The Duke Rape Case CBS The Hoax busting efforts of veteran 60 Minutes correspondent, Ed Bradley, were honored today with the announcement that his exposé of Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong's
hijacking of the Hoax has earned a prestigious Peabody Award.

Describing Mr. Bradley's final work, the Peabody Board noted:
"A "60 Minutes" team led by correspondent Ed Bradley delved into the allegations of rape against Duke University lacrosse players and stopped a prosecutorial rush to judgment in its tracks."
My only regrets are that Mr. Bradley did not live to see this last honor, and that the three young men who were the focus of this piece are still being persecuted.
ReplyDeleteI guess HS will run this story tomorrow.....
ReplyDeleteor not.... if I remember correctly, their editors really weren't all that impressed with t he piece. We'll see what awards they win for their reporting on the hoax... they already received an honorable mention in the change of venue. woo hoo....
ReplyDeleteEd Bradley was one of the good guys of journalism!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I missed that historic 60 Minutes broadcast, and obviously so did the editorial boards and snooze rooms of the New York Times and the Hurled Scum.
ReplyDeleteIt is an absolute outrage that this Hoax has been allowed to continue for as long as it has. I suggest the 60 Minute piece be broadcast continuously over and over again nationally until this evil miscarriage of justice is finally flushed down the proverbial toilet where it belongs.
The Peabody is awarded by the University of Georgia journalism school. They seemed to be rightfully impressed by the story. I guess that's the difference between a school that values its students and one that feeds them to the grinder in the name of PC.
