One year after North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper declared Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty, and Dave Evans innocent of all charges, Durham Herald-Sun Editor Bob Ashley has finally admitted the following.
"We were, honestly, too slow to recognize that there was no case at all!" Rural Blog
Baldo, after a thorough review of the coverage of the Durham Herald-Sun, had this comment for Bob.
“ZZZZ ZZ ZZZZZZ ZZZ”
Unbelievable! Is he honest or dodging a civil bullet?
ReplyDeleteThis guy is something else. He was the major cheerleader for Nifong! Up to about three weeks before Cooper declared innocent, the Herald-Sun was calling for a trial.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt the H/S would have endorsed Nifong in the 11/06 General Election. When most everyone else knew of Nifong's dirty deeds the H/S well... "was just to slow to recognize" them.
ReplyDeleteAshley and his whole staff were in the pocket of Nifong and the Durham activists who were calling for "castration".
ReplyDeleteAnd who can forget what Greg Childress said?
Bob Ashley is dishonest and he is a coward.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, indeed!
ReplyDeleteToo little, too late.
ReplyDeleteThat paper needs to die.
I'll bet that guy doesn't even take a shower without a camera strapped to his neck and a notepad and pencil in hand.
ReplyDeleteTen years ago these boys would have been fried for life. If not for you Joan and all at LS as well as KC, the story would likely be different.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!!
