Spring of Sorrows

TD:
Each day I join a group of friends,
Whose faces I've not seen.
Some live nearby, some far away
I do not know their names…
- - -
One by one you touched our hearts,
And made us resolute...
We will be a voice for you,
No court can render mute.
- -
We will be a voice for you,
While lies masquerade as fact.
When academia shames itself,
And Justice is hijacked.
-
We will be a voice for you.
More powerful because
We are just "little people"
Who came, unbidden, to the cause.
- - -
Whatever talents we possess
Will be your sword and lance.
Just know you never stand alone…
This cannot be happenstance.
- -
Strangers to ourselves and you.
How can this be explained?
Except perhaps, a higher power
Has His hands upon the rein.

Joan, what a beautiful sentiment to let the families of these young men know that they are not alone in proving their innocence. Thank you for expressing this for all of us who are out here. I cannot imagine how this hoax would be progressing, if it were not for all of the "little people" in the blogsphere. You, Liestoppers, JinC, KC, TL, FR, etc.- but look at how long it has taken, how many man hours of research/emails/comments/suggestions. No matter how good the lawyers for the accused, much of what has been uncovered about the hoax would not have been disclosed were it not for everyone who has tried to help.

Somehow, somehow, what these young men and their families have gone through will come out for their benefit- it is just not clear to any of us now. The "Desiderata" line about "the universe unfolding as it should" comes to mind. Keep the faith, Reade, Colllin and Dave, we have faith in you.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS.
