He Didn't Really Say That, Did He? #2

This week's Sports Illustrated print edition features an interview with former Duke lacrosse coach Mike Pressler. The article, written by SI senior writer Rick Reilly, offers explosive details on the firing of Pressler by Duke Athletic Director Joe Alleva.
Pressler's recollection of Alleva's comments: On April 5, Pressler says, Duke athletic director Joe Alleva called him in and said, "Mike, I've got to let you go."

"But Joe," Pressler pleaded. "You stood up before my players and said you believe it never happened. The DNA is coming back any day. Wait for the truth."

"It's not about the truth anymore," Pressler says Alleva told him. "Its about the faculty, the NAACP, and the special interest groups."
The Sports Illustrated website does not yet have the article posted. It is, however, being discussed at the LS Forum.

If Pressler's quote is accurate, then Alleva should lose his job.

Indeed. His then-AD thought that it would be fun to fire someone for doing his job properly, just to appease some simpering leftists and loud-mouthed racists? I think his former-AD needs to learn exactly how fun it is to get fired, and I hope he never gets another job as so much as a tee ball coach.

Carolyn says:

Truth didn't matter to Duke.

I finally comprehend the devastating loneliness Reade, Dave and Collin and their families must have experienced after they expected justice because of the truth.
