This is a bad idea. Not only is it dangerous, but not condusive to healing. Rubbing it in Durham's face is not smart. What if the NBBP decide to attend. We are going to have the NC Guard in a standoff.

Arent your Guard in Iraq???

I'd argue that those are two of the three people on the planet with the most legitimate interest in seeing that hearing in person. They are the victims in this case. I only hope it helps bring them some closure.

Oh, it's an awful idea. It's a wonderful, awful idea!

Reade and Dave and Collin had to sit at counsel table with the foul stench of Bielzebub's warm breath on the back of their necks. Turnabout is more than fair play. Plus, with the piercing gaze of the innocent boring through the back of his skull, I can't wait to watch Mikey's li'l forehead nixon throb and pulse...bigger and bigger and bigger, until the Anti-Christ hatches right through the front of his buck-toothed maw.

F "healing." Wouldn't Mikey and Stevie and Paddy and Dickie and Greggie and Dougie and some of the other Hitler Youth just love that.

Loose the marmosets! Let the razing begin.

if they know what is good for them they will keep the hell out of durham! they same people who threatened them the first time are still out there!

They can watch the hearing on COURTv with the rest of us and have instant replay.

There is no such thing as closure. There is learning to live with a sad even and moving ahead. but you miss that person or part of yourself forever,

Carolyn says:

Reade and Dave - you GO, guys!!! Sit in the front row, center seats! That's where courage and justice deserve to be - and nobody personifies that more than you both!!

As for those worried about hurting Nifong's feelings? Sorry, but that 'spare the guilty' attitude is cowardly. Brodhead spared Nifong's feelings and all it got Brodhead was footprints up his own back as Nifong walked all over him.

Reade and Dave! You ROCK!!

If Nifong did to me what he did to these boys, I would be right there staring at him too. Also the bar members are going to have to look at these kids before passing down a verdict on Nifong and that is a good thing.

Sometimes the best way to "healing" is to face the bully in a way that says, "What you did was wrong."

Having felt the helplessness caused by the State machine bearing down on them for no good reason, it may be helpful for them to return to Durham in these circumstances. It might make future visits possible, by making them less traumatic.

Perhaps.

Are you f'ing kidding? Victims have a right to attend hearings dealing with their alleged victimizer.

What kind of kumbaya BS are you trying to peddle.

I hope Nifong is nervous. I can't wait.

Forget healing. It's time for justice, and I only wish Finnerty could be there. I'm glad Mikey is going to finally be facing a trial, though I wish it were in criminal court and that he had a lot of company regarding this case.

I think the nifong trial is in downtown Raleigh, not Durham. I also think theymoved it to larger facilities so more press, tv, news people and the public could attend.

I hope The Duke 3 file civil lawsuits the day after Mikey is disbarred. It will be wonderful one-two punch.

Hopefully, this will be enough for the gladiater crowd who want to see blood in the arena. Nc Bar will get its back up on this appearance and proabably lighten the sentance for Nifong.

Did you watch the hearing on Nifong's motion to drop some of the charges? The Bar seemed to me to already have their "back up" -- and it appeared to be Nifong's actions (and his blatant disregard for being caught) which have offended them. I consider the argument that seeing his victims will make the Bar go easy on their victimizer rather amusing.

Reade, Dave and Colin have every right to sit front and center and see justice metted out for them. Nifong stole over a year of their lives, terrorized them and their familes and tried to discredit their names. He put Reade and Dave's college years on hold and forever changed what they had worked so hard for all their lives. They must be there to show they expect justice, and they expect the judge to be honorable.

LOL! I love these "take it easy on Nifong" crowd. Oh, it was only a year of their lives and 3 million dollars to get at the truth that they were framed by the PD & Nifong.

I say the entire 2006 Lacrosse Team should show up with their Lacrosse Sticks in full uniform. Then add in the Families and a few cheerleaders. let's even have a tailgate before!

If Nifong & the PD had have their way these three men would be serving decades in prison.

It looks like Collin's folks are to smart to let him attend this hearing. Which may be one of the reasons, Kevin makes the big - big bucks.

Anonymous said...

There will probably be no hearing.
I'm guessing Nifong surrenders the law license and resigns before he goes through this public humiliation. Even HE has it figured out by now. BUT, if not, I want Reade and Dave in the front row WATCHING the slime try to lie in front of them. They have earned the right to make him suffer, and I suspect the Bar agrees.

ha you do not know anything about the people down here. nifong is still the da of durham county and these are just some poorly behaved hooligans from new jersey who got lucky and got off due to political manipulation and buying justice. those yankees do not vote in elections down here. nifong is not going to be disbarred. he will be censured but not disbarred. if he is disbarred, it will start a whole lot of trouble again with the local community.

Anonymous said...

I could be wrong, but I think Nifong is going down fighting.

4:35, it's called FACTUAL INNOCENCE, fuckwit. They got off because they were INNOCENT, as in, DID NOT COMMIT THE CRIME OF WHICH THEY WERE ACCUSED, AND THE CRIME ITSELF NEVER OCCURRED!!! How does it feel, 4:35, to be just like David Duke and those Klansmen who murdered Medgar Evers and other civil rights workers? How does it feel to stand against the very civil rights others fought and died for? May you learn the folly of your ways before life teaches you through harsh experience.
