Nifong Didn't Intentionally Lie, His Attorney Says

Disgraced, disbarred, and former DA Nifong's hearing to determine whether he should be held in criminal contempt of court started off this morning with this dubious defense strategy by his defense attorney.

“Although the statements were not literally true, they were not willfully or purposefully lies.”

So far DA Nifong is making a strong bid to appear in the next addition of "A Treasury of Deception: Liars, Misleaders, Hoodwinkers, and the Extraordinary True Stories of History's Greatest Hoaxes, Fakes and Frauds"

Professor KC Johnson is blogging from the courthouse and as always, providing his insight into the events. DIW

The live video of the hearing is on WRAL TV

I dunno about you, but I am not even gonna touch that, too many lawyer jokes as it is.

You can't make this stuff up, truth IS stranger than fiction!
