Danowski Sets NCAA Career Scoring Mark As No. 1 Duke Defeats Loyola, 12-7

DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke's Matt Danowski became the NCAA's all-time leading scorer with a two-goal, five-assist performance as the top-ranked and top-seeded Blue Devils posted a 12-7 victory over 18th-ranked Loyola on Saturday afternoon in opening round action of the 2008 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament held at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Blue Devils move to 17-1 on the year, matching the NCAA single-season record for wins previously set by Duke twice (2005 & 2007), Hofstra (2006) and Virginia (2006). While improving to 13-11 all-time in NCAA Tournament action, Duke advances to the quarterfinals for the 10th time in school history and will travel to Ithaca, N.Y., to meet Ohio State next Sunday on ESPNU. The 2006 Duke Lacrosse teammates gather together after game
Collin Finnerty, the former Duke Player who transferred to Loyola after being falsely accused and wrongly suspended from Duke University, scored three goals in the game. After the game Duke Players insisted that their former teammate posed with them in their traditional senior picture. (see Collin in the green jersey)

What a great photo! They are great guys and Duke treated them so bad.
I'm generally pretty good as seeing the postive side of things but this struck me as sad. It reminds me of all that was stolen from him. And for what. He should have been on the winning team, he earned it.
Young Colin is a stronger person than I am. I am glad he could smile.
Way to go Collin! Big ups to the Duke Seniors as well. Just a fantastic picture!
I hope the picture makes this year's Duke Yearbook. Collin, and the team, deserve that.
