In August Nifong would be found guilty by Judge Smith for being in contempt of court over his hiding of exculpatory DNASI test results from the court and the defense attorneys. He would serve one day in jail reporting on September 7, 2007.

What a legacy! His name has become a verb of scorn!
I've seen the verb "nifong" used even in situations having nothing to do with false rape accusations. He represents everything that's wrong with America.
I'm not sure whether to pity or despise a man who doesn't have the humanity to know when he's a disgrace. No shame, no remorse, no regret, no humanity.
At least he'll have to live with knowing he sacrificed his career for the sake of a worthless criminal.
