I'm making a statement to the Durham community and, as a citizen of Durham, I am making a statement for the Durham community. This is not the kind of activity we condone, and it must be dealt with quickly and harshly." Mike Nifong

LOOKS LIKE A CRIMMINAL TO ME.

24 hours is a judicial farce, and a disgrace to the LAX3, and the community. If it were not because of citizens nationwide to protest, and speak up about corruption, these young men would be behind bars for up to 30 years, and not a 24 hour joy ride for a man who took an incredible oath to obey and follow the laws, and used it for his own agenda.
I am offended for the families, and all of the victims who are still waiting for this charade to end, so that our cases can be brought to light. But as this spectacle goes to show, it seems all is for naught.
It truly boggles the mind to believe such judicial criminal actions are just ignored. So far every public official from the Governor's office on down have done the 3 Blind Mice act.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt. The moon is not made of cheese, and you do not fall off the corner of the world by walking to the edge. Unless you have lived in the BULL City, you cannot understand it is it's own little world. A modern day version of Serpico, "Southern Style."
One miniscule day is truly a mockery. Laughter replaces guilt or responsibility. 1400 some odd minutes is to be his "punishment" for one of the most historic cases in law of complete dereliction of duty, and watered down to promote IMO the biggest "Hoax" so far. The "Good Old Boys" may be laughing now, but God is the ultimate judge, and they won't be able to get over on him.

too bad you are offended; some people in durham were offended by the racist behavior of the lax team that night, by the way their defense attacked the victim, bythe way they avoided going to court, the way they paid people for their testimony all over durham, by the way they are gloating and by the way they are trying to extort our city now. The crowd with Nifong is evidence that not everyone believed Cooper's bs. there were a lot more people than that who wanted to go down there and support him. the judge was actually playing it smart by only giving one day as more time would have only polarised durham more and made more people angry. if the judge had given Nifong more time, even more people would have shown up for his leavetaking because the the local news would be reporting on it everyday and fanning the flames of controversy and it could have gotten ugly. as it was, some of his supporters pushed reporters and hecklers off the sidewalk. some people also showed up in support as the lawsuit demands were considered greedy and outlandish by most people here. I doubt the city will settle.
